Use this guide to connect your Searchmetrics data to the reports you create with Supermetrics.

Before you begin
To connect to Supermetrics, your Searchmetrics account needs:
- Administrator access
- An API key and API secret
- Export credits
- Every data request costs Searchmetrics export credits, even when you're just testing queries. Learn more about this in Searchmetrics' API documentation.
Instructions
For Excel users
If your team uses Supermetrics for Excel, you'll see different options for managing and sharing data source connections in that destination. Learn more.
Make sure you've installed the Supermetrics add-on before you connect.
- Open a new Google Sheets file.
- Navigate to Extensions → Supermetrics → Launch sidebar to open Supermetrics.
- Click Create new query.
- Under Data source, select Searchmetrics.
- Enter your API key and API secret, and click Start.
- Navigate to Report configuration, and select your query type.
- Add URLs in the "Type URL" field, separated by new lines or commas with no whitespace (,).
- Select a country.

Make sure you've connected Supermetrics to Data Studio before following the steps below.
- Open the Supermetrics data source gallery.
- Navigate to Searchmetrics and click Try.
- Click Authorize.
- If you're connecting Searchmetrics for the first time, log in with the Google Account you use with Supermetrics. Click Allow.
- Click Authorize.
- Enter your API key and API secret, and click Start.
- Navigate to Report configuration, and select your query type.
- Add URLs in the "Type URL" field, separated by new lines or commas with no whitespace (,).
- Select a country.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page. To create a report with our template, select Use report template for new reports. To create a blank report, deselect this option.
- In the pane's top right, click Connect.
- Click Create report.
- Click Add to report.

Make sure you've installed the Supermetrics add-on before you connect.
- Open an Excel file.
- Click Data → Show Supermetrics.
- Under Data source, select Searchmetrics.
- Choose to make this connection shared or private.
- Click Start.
- Enter your API key and API secret, and click Start.
- Navigate to Report configuration, and select your query type.
- Add URLs in the "Type URL" field, separated by new lines or commas with no whitespace (,).
- Select a country.
