Follow these steps to connect your Similarweb data to Supermetrics.

Before you begin
You need to create an API key to connect Supermetrics to your Similarweb account. Note that only account admins can generate new API keys in Similarweb.
- Log in to the Similarweb platform.
- From the left menu, select Settings > Account.
- Under API, select Standard API.
- Click Generate a new API key
- Select the primary user of the API key you're creating.
- Click Create. Your key will be displayed in the Generated Keys table.
Query types
Set up your Similarweb queries using any of the query types described below.
- Traffic and engagement: Get the traffic volume and engagement for one or multiple websites.
- Desktop traffic sources: Understand what channels visitors are coming from for one or multiple websites. Only returns data for desktop users.
- Desktop keywords: Analyze what search engine keywords are attracting visitors and where they enter one or multiple websites. Only returns data for desktop users.
- Desktop PPC spend: Get estimated paid search spending for one or multiple websites. Only returns data for desktop users.
- Search keyword competitors: Analyze what the biggest competing websites are on search engines, for one or multiple websites.
- Top sites: Get ranking data for the top websites in a selected industry.
- App performance: Get the overall rating and rank of any mobile app in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Instructions
Make sure you've installed the Supermetrics add-on before you connect.
- Open a new Google Sheets file.
- Navigate to Extensions → Supermetrics → Launch sidebar to open Supermetrics.
- Click Create new query.
- Under Data source, select Similarweb.
- Enter your API Key.
- Enter a name for your account for you to identify it later.
- Click Start.

Make sure you've connected Supermetrics to Looker Studio before following the steps below.
- Open the Supermetrics Looker Studio data source gallery.
- Navigate to Similarweb and click Start free trial.
- You'll see two buttons that read Authorize. If you're using Supermetrics for the first time, click the left-hand one and log in with the Google Account you use with Supermetrics.
- Once that's done, or if you've done it before, click the right-hand Authorize button (under "Similarweb requires authorization to connect to data").
- Select a team that has access to the account you want to connect.
- Choose to make this connection shared or private.
- Enter your API key.
- Enter a name for the account for you to identify it later.
- Click Start.
- Select the type of query you would like to fetch data for.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page. To create a report with our template, select Use report template for new reports. To create a blank report, deselect this option.
- In the pane's top right, click Connect.
- Click Create report.
- Click Add to report.

- Open an Excel file.
- Click Data → Show Supermetrics.
- Under Data source, select Similarweb.
- Choose to make this connection shared or private.
- Enter your API Key.
- Enter a name for your account for you to identify it later.
- Click Start.
