Learn how to connect your Apple Search Ads data to Supermetrics.

Before you begin
There are two ways to connect Supermetrics to Apple Search Ads.
- For most users, we recommend using OAuth. This allows you to log in with your Apple ID in a few quick steps.
- If you need to connect multiple user accounts to access different collections of ads, use the API username and secret key setup.
Instructions
Connect using OAuth
Your account needs the Account Read Only and Account Admin user roles to connect. Learn more about user roles in Apple's documentation.
Make sure you've installed the Supermetrics add-on before you connect.
- Open a new Google Sheets file.
- Navigate to Extensions → Supermetrics → Launch to open the Supermetrics sidebar.
- Click Create query.
- Under Data source, select Apple Search Ads.
- Click Connect with OAuth.
- Click Start.
- Log in with the Apple ID you want to use to pull data.
- Grant "Account Read-Only" access, and click Grant Access.

Make sure you've connected Supermetrics to Looker Studio before following the steps below.
- Open the Supermetrics Looker Studio data source gallery.
- Navigate to Apple Search Ads and click Start free trial.
- You'll see two buttons that read Authorize. If you're using Supermetrics for the first time, click the left-hand one and log in with the Google Account you use with Supermetrics.
- Once that's done, or if you've done it before, click the right-hand Authorize button (under "Apple Search Ads requires authorization to connect to data").
- Select a team that has access to the account you want to connect.
- Choose to make this connection shared or private.
- Click Start.
- Click Connect with OAuth.
- Click Start.
- Log in with the Apple ID you want to use to pull data.
- Grant "Account Read-Only" access, and click Grant Access.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page. To create a report with our template, select Use report template for new reports. To create a blank report, deselect this option.
- In the pane's top right, click Connect.
- Click Create report.
- Click Add to report.

- Click Data → Show Supermetrics.
- Under Data source, select Apple Search Ads.

Connect using API username and secret key
If you're connecting with an API username and secret key, follow the steps below to get the credentials you need to connect.
Your account needs the API Account Manager or API Account Read Only user role to connect. Learn more about user roles in Apple's documentation.
Get an API username and secret key
- Open Supermetrics in your report. Click Data source, and then Apple Search Ads. If you're using Looker Studio, click Authorize when prompted.
- A dialog should open. Scroll down and click Click here to download your public key certificate.
- Once your download's complete, find the file in your "Downloads" folder (it'll be a .pem file).
- Right-click on the .pem file. Click Open with, and select a text editor (like Notepad on Windows, or TextEdit on Mac). Leave the file open while you follow the steps below.
- Log in to Apple Search Ads with your API user account.
- Click on your username on the top right, and navigate to Settings.
- Copy the whole text from the public key certificate file you downloaded earlier and paste it into the Public key field. The file should include both BEGIN PUBLIC KEY and END PUBLIC KEY.
- Click Generate API client.
- This will generate the Client ID, Team ID, and Key ID. Click Save to save those credentials.
- Return to the Supermetrics login dialog.
- Copy the Client ID, Team ID, and Key ID, and paste them into the fields with those labels.
