This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Ahrefs data to Supermetrics.
You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.
After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.
Required permissions
To connect Supermetrics to Ahrefs, you need:
- An Ahrefs paid plan subscription with the Enterprise plan. Learn more about all pricing plans in Ahrefs’ documentation.
- An Admin or Owner user role level. See Ahrefs' documentation about member roles and access levels and how to add a new user to your account.
Ahrefs and Ahrefs (legacy)
We introduced a new version of our Ahrefs data source connector in February 2024. Our old Ahrefs (legacy) connector worked with the Lite plan for Ahrefs. For the new Ahrefs connector, you need to upgrade your plan to Enterprise. The Ahrefs (legacy) connector was deprecated and stopped working on March 1, 2024.
Multiple user accounts
It's not possible to add multiple user accounts in the same login for Ahrefs. To log in with a different user account, you need to log out from all other Ahrefs accounts in Supermetrics.
Target URL
We support HTTP, HTTPS, and WWW for the Target URL field.
Query types
Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:
- Overview: Pull overview metrics from Backlink profile, Organic search and Paid search.
- Backlinks: Understand specific referring pages yielding high and/or low traffic and their overall domain rating
- Referring domains: Shows website domains for which target URL is referring
- Organic keywords: Shows the organic keywords for which the target URL ranks for
- Top pages: Shows which pages of the target URL get the most organic search traffic
- Paid pages: Shows which pages of the target URL get the most paid search traffic
- Keyword explorer: Overview: Get relevant keyword ideas with search volume, keyword difficulty, and other advanced metrics
