Smarp connection guide

This guide contains all permissions and requirements for connecting your Smarp data to Supermetrics.

You can connect to data sources from the Data sources page on the Supermetrics Hub. On the Hub, you can also share an authentication link to connect to a data source you don't have direct access to.

After you connect to the data source on the Hub, you can use the data source connection in all available destinations.

Required permissions

To connect Supermetrics to Smarp, you need:

  • A Smarp subdomain. This is the subdomain from your URL.
    • This is found after the https:// in your Smarp URL. For example, in the URL https: //examplestore.smarpshare.com, examplestore is the Smarp subdomain.
  • An API key. You'll find this in the Smarp dashboard — remember to keep it safe once you have it. Read the Authentication section of Smarp's basic concepts documentation to learn more.
  • An account name. This is the name you choose for your login. We recommend using your account's name.

Query types

Query types define what sort of metrics and dimensions are available. To access most query types, you'll need the Company Admin role level. You need to select one of the following query types when pulling data:

  • Clicks: Returns all clicks based on the period in which clicks happened.
  • Campaigns: Returns campaigns for a specific company.
  • Groups: Returns all groups within the instance.
  • Posts: Returns posts based on the period in which posts were published. Posts that have been deleted or were published in private channels won't be returned.
  • Shares: Returns all shares based on the period in which the share was done.
  • Teams: Returns all teams in the instance.
  • Users: Returns users in the company.
