This guide will walk you through how to define the attribution window — and the attribution timing used for the calculation — in Snapchat Marketing queries in Supermetrics.
Stay aligned
As these change the calculation, you might encounter discrepancies between Snapchat Marketing’s data and what’s reported by Supermetrics. Make sure the query’s attribution setting is the same as Snapchat’s to prevent this.
Instructions
The "Show conversion metrics by" setting allows you to select if you want to see conversions based on the time of conversion (conversion time) or by the time the user saw the ad (exposure time).
Google Sheets
- Open the Supermetrics sidebar.
- In the Options dropdown, navigate to Attribution window.
- Set your attribution window.
You can also use the Show conversion metrics by dropdown to define the conversion configuration you want. If you need multiple conversion settings, you’ll need to create individual queries, each with this setting changed.
Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio)
- Open Supermetrics in a report.
- Click Snapchat Marketing under Data source to open the connector setup page.
- Click Edit connection.
- Scroll down to the Attribution window dropdown.
- Set your attribution window.
You can also use the Show conversion metrics by dropdown to define the conversion configuration you want.
If you need multiple conversion settings, you’ll need to create individual data source files, each with this setting changed. Alternatively, enabling the Allow “Attribution window” to be modified in reports setting in the connector setup page will allow you to define a unique attribution window for each object in a report.
Excel
- Open the Supermetrics sidebar.
- Click the Options dropdown.
- Select Add option.
- Choose Attribution window.
If you need multiple windows, you will need multiple queries, each with this setting changed.
To adjust the Attribution timing setting, select Show conversion metrics by instead of Attribution window. As with Attribution window, if you need multiple conversion settings, you’ll need multiple queries, each with this setting changed.
