The Trade Desk report building guide

Use The Trade Desk data source connector to report on the key performance and cost metrics, including The Trade Desk cost, partner cost, and advertiser cost. To get a complete overview of your advertising performance, combine The Trade Desk metrics with data from your other paid channels.

See clicks and impressions with advertiser cost

Keep on track on your budget and view how the ad cost, click, and impression have evolved. In this example, we take a look at the data for the last 28 days. 


The "Advertiser cost (adv currency)" metric shows the advertiser cost in advertiser's currency.

The "Clicks" metric shows the number of clicks.

The "Impressions" metric shows the number of impressions.


For best results in Looker Studio, use the time series chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last 28 days.
  2. Select the Advertiser cost (adv currency), Clicks, and Impressions metrics.
  3. Select the Date dimension to split the query results by date.


See clicks, impressions and advertiser cost per ad and campaign

Take a look at the performance of your ad groups and campaigns for the last 3 months. In this example, we include the ad group name, campaign name, and creative name in the data we explore.


The "Advertiser cost (adv currency)" metric shows the advertiser cost in advertiser's currency.

The "Clicks" metric shows the number of clicks.

The "Impressions" metric shows the number of impressions.


For best results in Looker Studio, use the table chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last 3 months.
  2. Select the Advertiser cost (adv currency), Clicks, and Impressions metrics.
  3. Select the Ad group name, Campaign name, Creative name, and Date dimensions to split the query results by ad and campaign details.


See player starts and completions

Take a look at how many starts and completed views your video ads gained last month. In the example, we include details of the ad group and campaign as well.


The "Player starts" metric shows the number of starts in the player.

The "Player completed views" metric shows the number of completed views in the player.


For best results in Looker Studio, use the table chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last month.
  2. Select the Player starts and Player completed views metrics.
  3. Select the Ad group name, Campaign name, and Creative name dimensions to split the query results by ad and campaign details.
