AppsFlyer: Authentication guide

This guide will walk you through how to authenticate or reauthenticate AppsFlyer with Google Sheets, Data Studio, and Excel, as well as data warehouse destinations like Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and the Supermetrics API.


Before you begin

To connect Supermetrics to AppsFlyer, you need:

  • Account admin access
  • Two API tokens (V1.0 and V2.0)


Retrieve your API tokens

  1. Log in to AppsFlyer.
  2. Click the email address in the top right corner to open the user menu drop-down.
  3. Click Security center.
  4. Under AppsFlyer API tokens, select Manage your AppsFlyer API tokens.
  5. Copy both tokens.

Query types

Supermetrics support the Performance query type, which returns aggregated that shows how different marketing channels and user acquisition sources perform.


For Excel users

If your team uses Supermetrics for Excel, you’ll see different options for managing and sharing AppsFlyer connections in that destination. Learn more.


Instructions

Google Sheets Data Studio Excel Data integrations
Before you can authenticate the AppsFlyer in Google Sheets, you need to install the Supermetrics add-on.
  1. Open a new Google Sheets file.
  2. Navigate to ExtensionsSupermetricsLaunch to open the Supermetrics sidebar.
  3. Click Create query.
  4. Under Data source, select AppsFlyer.
  5. Click Start.
  6. Enter your credentials, including an account name and your tokens, and click Start.
  7. Click Allow.
  8. Under Select accounts, select the accounts.

Troubleshooting

  • If you encounter an authentication error such as “authentication failed”, “you need to reauthenticate” or similar, see this guide.
  • If you encounter a permission error such as “user permission denied” or similar, follow this guide.
