How to create a custom schema?

Schemas are created with the Query Manager tool, which can be found from You can use your custom schemas in BigQuery or DWH and Cloud Storage destinations.

1. Log in to the Supermetrics Team Management site with your Google or Microsoft account.

  • If you belong to multiple teams, select the one that holds your Supermetrics for BigQuery license.

2. Once you are logged in, navigate to Integrations → Query Manager.

3. In the Query Manager, select a data source from the top-left corner of the view, the SCHEMAS tab and DWH from the format options. Then click on + New Schema.

4. Proceed to give your new custom schema a name and save it. You will be notified as the schema is successfully saved, and you can see it in the schema list.

5. Switch over to the QUERY tab to create a query that is to be attached to the newly created schema.

6. Set Select dates as a 1-day range, preferably yesterday, and validate the query by clicking on the RUN button.

  • Note: the query should have the "Date" dimension included if you want to have data day by day. Without the "Date" dimension your query will be creating a snapshot table without the date partitioning.

6. After the validation has been done, save the query into your newly created custom schema from the SAVE AS button.

  • You can also add multiple queries to one schema. Each query in your schema corresponds to one table in BigQuery or your DWH or Cloud Storage destination.
