Outbrain Amplify: Authentication and reauthentication guide

This guide will walk you through how to authenticate or reauthenticate Outbrain Amplify with Google Sheets, Google Data Studio, and Microsoft Excel, as well as data warehouse destinations like Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, and the Supermetrics API. 


Before you begin

To connect Supermetrics to Outbrain Amplify, you need:

  • API access from Outbrain. You won't be able to use the connector until this step is done. 
    • Contact your account manager at Outbrain to allowlist API access for your account. Alternatively, fill out this form requesting API access from Outbrain.
    • Once Outbrain has approved your API access, you can log into the Supermetrics connector with the approved username and password.

Google Sheets Data Studio  Excel Data integrations
Before you can authenticate the data source in Google Sheets, you need to install the Supermetrics add-on.
  1. Open a new Google Sheets file. 
  2. Click Add-ons → Supermetrics → Launch to open the sidebar.
  3. Under Data source, select the data source.
  4. Click Start.
  5. Enter your username or email and password, and click Start.
  6. Under Select accounts, select the accounts.

Troubleshooting

  • If you encounter an authentication error such as “authentication failed”, “you need to reauthenticate” or similar, see this guide
  • If you're missing an account from the drop-down list, follow these steps.
  • If you encounter a permission error such as “user permission denied” or similar, follow this guide.
