TikTok Ads report building guide

Use the TikTok Ads data source to learn which ads are boosting the most engagement to your TikTok account or driving the most traffic to your site. Compare your TikTok Ads data to other advertising platform data to stay on top of your key social media advertising metrics across channels.

Our TikTok Ads data source fetches all the main advertising metrics — impressions, clicks, CTR, cost, CPC, CPM, reach, conversions, conversion rates, CPA, and more. You can split the data by campaign, ad group, ad, or by time.

TikTok Ads also supports hourly granularity. The data source fetches detailed conversion data for all the different in-app events or page events. In your reports, inspect the results by targeting demographics: location, language, age, gender, device, interest, and more.

We support only campaigns that use auction as buying type. Reservation ads are not supported at the moment.

For a full list of metrics and dimensions available in our TikTok Ads data source connector, take a look at our TikTok Ads documentation.

Once you’ve connected to TikTok Ads, you’re ready to create your first query in Google Sheets, Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio), or Excel.

Try these queries

See the following use cases for examples of how to set up queries.

See total ad spend

Get data on your ad spend for the last 28 days.

The "Cost" metric shows the estimated total amount of money you've spent on your campaign, ad group, or ad in the currency of the advertising account.

For best results in Looker Studio, use the scorecard chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last 28 days.
  2. Select the Cost metric.
  3. Set the Comparison date range to Previous period.

The ad spend is given in the currency used by your TikTok Ads data source. You can convert the currency to other currencies in Google Sheets and Looker Studio. Learn more about currency conversion.

See ad spend and conversions per account

Explore your ads spend and conversions for each ad account you’ve had ads running for last week.

The "Conversions" metric shows the number of times your ad achieved an outcome, based on the secondary goal you selected. One campaign can have multiple different secondary goals. The conversions are calculated based on the time each ad impression occurred.

For best results in Looker Studio, use the table chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last week.
  2. Select the Cost and Conversion metrics.
  3. Select the Advertiser name dimension to split the query results by advertiser.

See ad spend, clicks, and conversions per ad campaign

Explore your ad spend and conversions for each ad campaign you ran last month.

The "Clicks" metric shows the number of clicks on your ads.

For best results in Looker Studio, use the table chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last month.
  2. Select the Cost, Clicks, and Conversion metrics.
  3. Select the Campaign name dimension to split the query results by campaign.

See how many times your video has been viewed

Get data on how many times your video has been played on TikTok during the last 7 days.

The "Video views" metric shows the number of times your video starts to play. Replays will not be counted.

For best results in Looker Studio, use the time series chart type.

  1. Set the date range to Last 7 days.
  2. Select the Video views metric.
  3. Select the Date dimension to split the query results by date.

Set up scheduled refreshes for your reports

You can set up scheduled refreshes for your reports created in Google Sheets and Excel. Follow the instructions on how to create and manage scheduled reports in Google Sheets and how to set up scheduled report triggers in Excel.

In Looker Studio, you can have a copy of your report emailed to you and important stakeholders at regular intervals.
