Google Ad Manager field deprecations and updates - February 14, 2023

On February 14, 2023 we will be making updates to fields in the Google Ad Manager data source. This is due to changes needed in the API upgrade to v202205.

The updates include field deprecations, field value changes, and updates to the timezone behavior which are all described in detail below.

Field deprecations

The following table contains all fields that will be deprecated, as well as a list of actions to take for each. Some have replacements that you can use now, some will have new fields added as part of the update, and some are being retired completely and should be removed.

If the deprecated fields are not removed or replaced in your reporting, they will return empty values.

Time zone changes

The Ad Exchange Historical report supported both publisher time zone and Pacific Standard Time. As Google is removing the Ad Exchange Historical report in v202205, any data that was using that report will instead use the Historical report, which supports only the publisher time zone.

This change in time zone behavior may affect the data. However, it should still align with the UI reporting after the updates.

Field value changes

Some values returned by specific fields may change in this version update. Those affected are listed below:

  • Ad exchange deal/ new PROGRAMMATIC_DEAL_NAME field - the value “Open auction" will return as "(Not applicable)"

  • Ad Exchange DSP buyer network/new BIDDER_NAME field - the value “(No DSP)” will return as “Google Ads”. The value “Google: DCLK Bid Manager” will return as “DV360”

  • Creative size - the value “Native” will instead return the actual sizes of the creative used
