Apple App Store / iTunes Public Data: Connection guide

This guide will walk you through how to authenticate Apple App Store / iTunes Public Data with Google Sheets, Data Studio, and Microsoft Excel. 

Please note that this data source is in early access — it's not fully deployed, but is available for testing.

Before you begin

The Supermetrics Apple App Store / iTunes Public Data data source doesn't need you to log in to a specific account. Therefore, no access requirements are needed for this data source.

Google Sheets Data Studio  Excel

Before you can authenticate the data source in Google Sheets, you need to install the Supermetrics add-on.

  1. Open a new Google Sheets file.
  2. Navigate to ExtensionsSupermetricsLaunch to open the Supermetrics sidebar.
  3. Under Data source, select Apple App Store / iTunes.
  4. Navigate to Report configuration.
  5. Under Query type, select the query type.
  6. Insert Keyword(s) or App ID(s) for searching apps. To select different apps, separate each one with commas.
  7. Select App Store country.
  8. Select the Platform (i.e. iPhone, Mac etc.) and Maximum results per search term.
